The Backpack Buddy program provides two meals to hungry students each weekend. Organizers are grateful to several new funding providers who are helping the program create cooperative relationships that mean more students will be fed. Please see the video below from KATU to learn more about the program.


Drive Drop and Donate takes place this weekend, Sept. 30 - Oct. 2, at four participating Safeway Stores in Milwaukie, Oak Grove and Clackamas. You can also donate food at any North Clackamas elementary school and Wichita School. Here are the Safeway locations:

•4320 S.E. King Road, Milwaukie
•14840 S.E. Webster Road, Milwaukie

Introductions and Welcome: Mary Weaver, Chairperson, was ill, so Linda Hedges, secretary, led the meeting.

Most anyone who has visited Milwaukie's Ledding Library knows it is way too small, the amount of items circulated through the library have grown while the library has stayed the same size. For example, in august 2005 47,341 items were circulated while in August 2011 60,601 items were circulated, a growth of over 13,000 items for just the month! (See the complete statistics here)

A citizen task force has been formed to study the options available for expanding the library. You can read the agendas and minutes from their meetings here.
